Global superstars BTS are expanding their highly anticipated comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square, increasing total audience capacity to approximately 22,000 as demand continues to skyrocket.

According to the group’s agency BigHit Music, additional standing zones have been introduced for the March 21 event BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, boosting capacity by roughly 7,000 from the original 15,000 seats.

The newly added areas will stretch from the Gwanghwamun intersection toward City Hall, allowing more fans to experience the historic performance. Large LED screens will be installed across the expanded zones so attendees can follow the show in real time.

The expansion comes after the initial ticket allocation sold out almost instantly, highlighting the overwhelming global demand for BTS’s first full-group concert following the completion of their military service.

Organizers emphasized that the decision was made with safety and crowd control as top priorities, with enhanced monitoring systems and anti-scalping measures also being implemented.

Despite the limited official capacity, the wider Gwanghwamun area is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans, turning central Seoul into the epicenter of a global cultural moment.

The free concert will take place one day after the release of BTS’s new album Arirang and will be streamed live worldwide via Netflix, allowing millions more to take part in the event remotely.

With expanded capacity, massive global viewership, and unprecedented demand, the Gwanghwamun concert is shaping up to be one of the largest and most significant events in BTS’s career — and a defining moment in K-pop history.
