Global superstars BTS are set to transform Seoul into a citywide celebration as part of their long-awaited comeback, launching a massive cultural festival titled ‘BTS The City Arirang Seoul.’

Announced via Weverse, the month-long project will run from March 20 to April 19, in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Organized by BigHit Music, the festival will feature a wide range of events across the city, including drone shows, media art installations, music-and-light displays, and interactive fan experiences — all designed to celebrate BTS’s return after nearly four years.

The festivities will kick off with major visual spectacles across Seoul’s most iconic landmarks. Media facade shows will light up Sungnyemun Gate and Namsan Seoul Tower, followed by a 15-minute drone show over Ttukseom Han River Park.

The celebrations lead into BTS’s highly anticipated comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square, where approximately 22,000 ticketed fans are expected, with total crowds in the surrounding area projected to reach up to 260,000.

Additional major venues will host themed experiences throughout the festival. Dongdaemun Design Plaza will feature large-scale exhibitions, while the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain will stage synchronized music-and-light shows.

Fans can also take part in an interactive “stamp rally,” collecting digital badges at locations including Yeouido and Shinsegae Square.

Among the highlights is the “Love Song Lounge” at Yeouido Han River Park, where fans can gather to listen to BTS’s music together, as well as “Army Square” at DDP, a dedicated space celebrating the group’s global fandom.

Later in the festival, the “Love Quarter” program will transform areas like Cheonggye Stream and Yongsan Station with immersive media art installations inspired by BTS’s new album Arirang.

The “The City” concept is not new for BTS, having previously drawn massive crowds in Las Vegas and Busan — but this Seoul edition is expected to be the largest and most ambitious yet.

Following its run in Seoul, the project is expected to expand to major cities worldwide later in 2026, further extending BTS’s global comeback impact.

With an entire city turned into a stage, BTS’s return is shaping up to be not just a music event — but a cultural phenomenon.
